The Introduction to Yoga Nidra is one in a series of  introductory courses ongoing here at the Bamboo Loft .This is a taster session for the weekly class available here all year round. 

Typically it is a 90 minute workshop gently introducing you to the practice of  Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation that is practiced while lying down. It is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping that allows you to access your subconscious mind.

The benefits of Yoga Nidra are numerous. It can help reduce stress, anxiety, and insomnia. It also promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice.

In a Yoga Nidra class, you can expect to be guided through a series of relaxation techniques including body scan and breath awareness. The practice is typically done lying down on a yoga mat with blankets and pillows for support. The teacher will guide you through the practice, providing verbal cues to help you relax and enter a state of deep meditation.
relaxation/meditation exercises are all-important. You will warm up with deep breathing and gentle movements, then move through to a series of poses, which you hold for a few seconds to build your strength and balance.

The class usually ends with a guided meditation where you sit or lie comfortably and clear your mind. Classes are in the Bamboo Loft.
